For the past several years, Brooklyn Basketball has partnered with the New York City Department of Education to deliver a first-of-its-kind, free in-school basketball program for elementary and middle school students across Brooklyn.
Reaching more than 200 schools annually, this initiative integrates basketball instruction directly into gym classes—making the game accessible to students of all backgrounds and skill levels.

Meet OUr Coaches

Michael Collins
Head Coach
Michael Collins joins Brooklyn Basketball as the programs Head Coach with over 15 years of experience developing players of all ages and skill levels. Most recently, he served as the Basketball Director at Basketball City at Pier 36 in Manhattan, where he worked with NBA and overseas professionals while also leading youth programs in partnership with the Jr. NBA and NBPA. A former standout player and longtime coach at Stevens Institute of Technology, Michael helped guide both the men’s and women’s teams to championship success and NCAA Tournament runs. He holds a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology with a focus in coaching and conditioning, and is passionate about creating positive, growth-driven environments where young athletes can learn, compete, and reach their full potential.
